　　从机柜的用途分类，不外乎两种，设备机柜（服务器机柜）和布线机柜（网络机柜）。

1. Equipment cabinet:

　　通常设备机柜都是选用标准19英寸宽度，列出所有准备装在机柜内的设备和它们的高、深、重量。重一些的设备尽量放在机柜的下部（可使机柜站立相对稳固）这些设备的总高度将决定可以把多少设备装进机柜。设备和设备之间要留有一定的空隙，这样有助于设备通风散热，设备顶部也要留些空隙，以备将来更换风扇和更好的散热，高的机柜能装进更多的设备，所以更省地方。设计完需要使用的机柜后还要预留一些备用空间，因为一旦你把机柜买来并安装完，一些多出的设备往往就出现了。没有预留系统扩充的备用空间，到时候就该头痛了。

Usually, equipment cabinets are selected with a standard 19 inch width, listing all the devices to be installed in the cabinet and their height, depth, and weight. 　　设备机柜要有良好的净载重强度，一般要求材料要使用冷轧钢板（热板或带钢应力不够，载重时间久了会变形），如果设备太重重量，就要提前告知供应商，增加单层承载力；左右侧门相对来说可以用薄一些的材料以减轻机柜自重，如果机柜装好设备后有可能移动或长时间使用脚轮支撑的话，还需要选择承重脚轮。

If the equipment is too heavy, the supplier should be informed in advance to increase the single-layer bearing capacity; Relatively speaking, thinner materials can be used for the left and right side doors to reduce the weight of the cabinet. If the cabinet may move or be supported by casters for a long time after installation, load-bearing casters need to be selected.

　　机柜内的设备有很高的散热要求，所以选择机柜除了要有顶置风扇外，选择有通风网孔的前后门。

　　机柜内的安装梁应可以方便的前后移动，有高度标志；托板可以方便的上下移动，前后也应有一定的移动空间，便于安装设备。

　　机柜内的电源应该选用机柜的电源分配单元。

　　机柜内应有一个以上的接地柱。

　　机柜表面喷塑不应有划伤，内部喷塑不能脱落（露出金属时间长了容易锈蚀）。

　　2、布线机柜：

　　相对服务器机柜来说，人们对网络机柜的要求不是很高，一般要求进线孔要大，有宽大的理线器或理线环，使用机柜底座的话，底座进线孔也要尽可能的大些。

Compared to server cabinets, people's requirements for network cabinets are not very high. Generally, it is required to have large cable entry holes, wide cable cutters or cable rings. If using a cabinet base, the cable entry holes on the base should also be as large as possible.

　　布线柜放置地点的环境条件不是很好，机柜要注意防尘，机柜柜体不能有金属露出，防止锈蚀。
